Scope: The supply-to-console chain of the LMI system: power connection, wiring harness, 14-conductor cable, central unit, console connection. The drawing is a control/instrument wiring diagram with no power-system single-line content. The console's availability along its single supply/data route is the clearest reliability question the drawing can answer.
Boundary: Source = crane supply at the power connection (RED - POWER); sink = operator console. Power enters only at the power connection. The console is the operator end point that the whole system serves.
Can fail: line, other. Cables/connectors and the electronic assemblies (harness, central unit) are the parts that can fail. The supply and the console are the boundary end points and are treated as ideal.
Success: any_path. The console is working if power and data can reach it from the crane supply through the central unit. Every conductor shown is a single route with no redundancy, so any_path reduces to a series chain.
Not modelled:
- Piston/rod pressure transducers, length transducer, slip ring, main boom/jib tip A2B switches: They are signal inputs, not on the power/data path to the console. Including them would need a function-level (LMI calculation) success rule that this drawing does not define.
- Individual pins, shields, resistors and conductor-level failures: Each cable/connector is lumped into one block; the conductors inside it share a common failure mode.
- The 14 COND cable is used for both the power-in and console-data routes, but it appears only once: It is one physical cable, so it is modelled as a single series block.
