Scope: 345/34.5 kV substation export path: 34.5 kV collector circuits 01-05, feeder disconnects/breakers, Main Bus 1, 89-B1, XFMR T1, 52-H1, 89-H1 and the 345 kV tie to Kintigh.. The substation's function is to deliver solar output to the grid; this is the path that delivers it.
Boundary: Source: aggregate solar collector system at the 34.5 kV MV circuit terminations (off-sheet PV-E.02.01). Sink: Kintigh 345 kV substation at the end of the 159 ft overhead tie.. These are the edges of this sheet's scope; arrays and Kintigh internals are on other drawings/owned by others.
Can fail: breaker, disconnector, transformer, busbar, line. Series power-carrying equipment whose failure interrupts export: breakers, disconnect switches, the main transformer, the main bus and the conductors/feeders. Source and sink are boundary points treated as perfect.
Success: any_path. Export to the grid is considered available while at least one collector circuit is connected through to Kintigh; this is a continuity (not capacity) criterion.
Not modelled:
- Partial-capacity loss (losing one or more feeders reduces MW export): any_path only captures total loss of export; capacity weighting needs a separate study.
- CTs, VTs (345CCVT1, 35VT1, VT-C1), surge arresters, metering CM1P/CM1B: Not series current-carrying elements for continuity; protection/metering misoperation would need a fault tree.
- Capacitor banks CAP-1/CAP-2, harmonic filter, 52-CS1/52-CS2, 89-C1.x, GSC-1/GSC-2: Reactive support branches, not on the export path; their need is pending load-flow/harmonics study (Note 2).
- Station service SS1/89-SS1, control building, NGR-1: Auxiliary loads and neutral grounding; failure of auxiliary power or protection DC that could trip breakers is a common-cause not represented.
- Protection spurious trips, grounding-switch interlocks (Note 5), Kirk-key interlocks: Control logic, outside a structural RBD.
- Spare position 89-F3.B ('Space'): No circuit installed.
